Description
This trail offers a similar experience to the Central Lakes and Lake Wobegon trails. The trail mostly follows the railroad bed of the Northern Pacific segment between Villard, Glenwood, and Starbuck. There isn't a clearly marked route through Glenwood, but we've marked the best way to get through on the map to the right. In Starbuck, the trail heads south along Hwy 29 and provides access to Glacial Lakes State Park.
Biking on the Villard-Starbuck Trail is a great experience in the summertime. The trail offers a glimpse into central Minnesota's tapestry of lakes and resorts, farmland, and small towns. Each town along the way is unique in its own way, so take time to relax and enjoy it all.
